Update for the Droids...

When are we getting the system update? Im getting frustrated with this crazy battery life that doesn't make up its mind. I just went from 37% battery life to 28% in The blink of an eye

I've read that those in-the-know tell that the new 'camera' update breaks root. I'll gladly wait until a flashable zip is extracted, to save root!

fat-fingered and Maxx-ed out.

Not all updates break root we will have to wait. Nobody knows at this time if it will or not

Reports are that the pwnmymoto does break root on moto x. MotoRoot supposedly doesn't.

From the dev of both

"
If you install pwnmymoto (but not run) before updating it will work, one shot chance with either."

I had the same thing happen to me when it hit about 15% battery. Power saver kicked in and it dropped to 4% instantly....

So if my phone is rooted with MotoRoot, when the update is available do I just accept it or will I need to unroot first then accept the update and then reroot?

Speaking of unrooting, can any one point me towards some clear instructions to getting my phone back to stock? I've been having some problems and would like to do a factory reset, but I can't do it without the stock recovery.

CAVEAT: I have not tried this myself. But, this post has the link you need: xda-developers - View Single Post - Restore to stock and makes reference to the instructions in this post: [GUIDE][VIDEO] Moto X - Return to 100% stock (using RSD Lite) - xda-developers about the Moto X, which are the same for the Maxx, except you need to use the download file for the Maxx rather than the Moto X

Google 'HouseofMoto'. Download, install, follow directions in the Read Me file. And... Last best word is that the update will break root! You will not be able to root afterwards. Period. The enhancement there in will find a way to a flashable file eventually.
