I keep getting the Android and "!" after a few seconds of running installation. I restored ALL bloat and even factory wiped my device and it still keeps stopping at the same spot.
I'm at a loss here. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What message are you seeing? How far into the update is it pausing?
Try and be as detailed as possible.

How did you originally remove bloat, and how are you restoring it?

Also keep your eye on this thread cuz I just wrote out how this other fellow might have to restore his system, and you might wind up having to do the same: http://forums.androidcentral.com/droid-bionic/140519-droid-bionic-update-fail-rooted-no-leaks.html

I had Titanium and had it frozen.
It only got about 5 seconds into it before it stopped. I just wiped again with the R3L3As3Droot And 43V3R Root For The Bionic V2.1 and it seems to be working now.
Now I'm gonna have to restore all my settings and apps...
Thanks for your help.

I am having an issue with the update installation failing. I can download it successfully, I click install, reboots my phone, powers back on, and I unlock my phone - immediately it says 'Installation failed'. not quite sure whats going on. Am doing over the network, not on WiFi if that makes a difference. Am currently rooted, but its never effected any OTA updates before. any thoughts?

I had the same problem and couldn't track down the problem. I used the released and forever root program to factory restore, reroot, and forever root, and then it updated just fine. Restored my apps with titanium backup, and I've been all good so far.

Hmm...ok. Would rather not go that route, but if I have to...I'll mess around with it more when I get home. But will keep that in mind. Thanks!
