Update LTE band?

Hi guys and gals,

Can someone please help me? I can't figure out how to 1) see what bands my phone is able to use, and 2) update it to use a certain band. I am on the Pie version through T-Mobile if that makes a difference. I was able to see that it is using band 12 currently. Thanks and sorry if this isn't clearly worded. I'm not 100% sure what to ask to get what I need.

You should be able to find out the available frequencies for your phone via a Google Search (GSM Arena is a good source) BUT to find out which band your phone is currently use you'll need a 3rd party app. I'm researching the name of the one I used to use.
