Moto Z Droid and Moto Z Force Droid have an update available today.

MCLS24.246-36-3

September 1, 2016 security patch

Kudos to Lenovo - it seemed they were not planning many software updates to the Moto Z line, but a security update without a version update is a good sign, if you ask me.

Hopefully Verizon and Motorola at least keep pace with what Verizon and Samsung are doing to keep the Galaxy phones up to date.

It's not from Google so I'm not expecting monthly.

Past broken promises and Lenovo not being willing to commit to the monthly updates led a lot of us to be skeptical that they'd do very well with updates. They certainly have an opportunity to pleasantly surprise us, and so far they're doing pretty alright. :)

Can anyone tell me why certain apps disappear off your home screens when you get an update? It is very irritating to have to rebuild your home screens with the apps you want out of the app drawer. Not a big deal but I always wondered why some stayed and some don't. All of the apps are from Google play.

2nd update arrived overnight

MCLS-24246-36-3 was waiting this morning. I OKed the install, phone got quite warm during install, 20min later all is well.

Where can I find a changelog?

Re: 2nd update arrived overnight

This is the September security update with little or nothing else different. Came out a few days ago.

Re: 2nd update arrived overnight

I thought this was going to be the new 4g network update, oh well.

Re: 2nd update arrived overnight

I was told when I got the phone there wouldn't need to be any update for the phone to be able to use the advanced network. I know it's live and I have noticed improved speed.

Re: 2nd update arrived overnight

Is it live? It says there will be an automatic software update to get it. I haven't noticed anything different on my end

I noticed this happening on my previous S7 Edge. I found it did that to apps that were "Moved to SD Card" or whatever it is called
