update not working

Im rooted and when the system wants to update, it downloads and tells me to restart, then I get stuck at a root alert type splash screen that will not go away. pushing power button and down vol doesnt work so I have to remove the battery and then I can get to the Hboot screen where I tell it to restart. It asks me if I want to install update and I say yes. The phone restarts just like it was brand new, wiping all my data, but when I just the software version, it is the same, it them tells me there is an update available and wants to do the whole thing over again. any clues? thanks

I've heard the update doesn't work on rooted phones. You have to go back to stock if you want the update. Probably something to do with it checking the system and not seeing the specs it's looking for.

Yeah I rooted my phone 3 days go and I got the system update and I get the android guy then it goes into clockwork I have to reboot my phone but how would you unroot

I'm not rooted, but I've seen posts talking about how to can go back to stock. You'll have to check the rooting threads.

ok, thanks. I only rooted so that I could install 3rd party apps, and since thats not suppose to be a problem anymore, guess I'll unroot.

You could have just used Sideload Wonder Machine. You don't need to root for that.

well that sucked, unrooted, phone installed the new update, its not any faster ( 4g my ass ) plus, now I cant install 3 rd party app again, so all the backed up apks on my sd card wont install, guess I'll try that wonder machine next. thanks!
