Update Question

I am considering purchase a VZW Pixel 2XL, but I am currently on t-mobile (which may change), but I had a question about updates since I've read some different things. Will the fact that I'm using a non-VZW SIM in the phone slow down updates? I've seen posts here and there stating that it would, and others that it wouldn't. I know the bootloader is locked, but that I don't care so much about. Thoughts?

I have a Verizon Pixel 2 on T-Mobile and I receive updates around the same time everyone else does. No issues here. I got it from Best Buy. It has a very small amount of Verizon bloatware which is easily removed. Other than the locked bootloader, it is the same phone that you get from Google. I'm very happy with it.

I am currently using it on T Mobile also, bought mine from Target. Received the March security update the day it came out, no delays.

The updates are random. Some months you get it fast. Others are after the 10th. I didn't get the current month until 3/14 and I bought mine from Google.

I got the last update Match 5th.

When an update is available, tapping "Check system update" does an immediate update without having to wait.

You shouldn't have any issues here. But if you want to be assured then buy an unlocked pixel 2xl.
