I have an S6 Edge I will be selling soon, since I've recently bought a Note 5. I'd like to put Marshmallow on it to make it more attractive to potential buyers. (And for fun)

When the Verizon update is released tomorrow, I'm pretty sure I'll be able to download the whole file somewhere. But will I be able to install it without any Verizon service?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Bob, unfortunately that will not be possible. In order to get the OTA update, you've got to have your verizon(or other carrier) sim card installed. Believe me I've tried. The minute your sim is installed, your phone and account will be recognized and you can download the update. Thats what I did to get the MM update on my v10. I took the sim out of my S6 edge, put it in my V 10 and downloaded. The sim is now back in my S6 edge. I'll download the update on that tomorrow and then sell it. I just got my S7 edge. Keeping that one and the V10. Besides, I really don't think the MM updated would make a difference since the new owner can download it when they activate it.
