Update still Bluetooth issues

just finished updating my pixel and I'm still experiencing car Bluetooth issues.

When I receive a message my car Bluetooth goes nuts. It won't stop notifying.

I thought a fix was part of the update.

Anyone else still experiencing this?

I had to "forget" my car Bluetooth on the phone, delete device from car, and set it up again...BUT...I unchecked share contacts BEFORE reconnecting. I only have phone (or calls) and media checked, and it's working beautifully.

P.S. There's no reason to share contacts if you are using Google commands to call or text your contacts. That's only if you use your vehicle's dialer to make calls.

So far my BT headset I use at work is working fine and the gf has only an aux port in her car so I bought a BT dongle that we use in there... So far so good on that as well. I haven't tried it with a "built in" BT via a car yet.

I had to turn off my Bluetooth, all the dingy da ding was drivin me crazy and it had only cycled through maybe 500 messages LOL

Mine is doing the same thing after the update...

Yep, same issue before and after the update. Chevy MyLink

I didn't have this issue with my 5X.

Mine syncs fine it's just when I receive a notification it goes nuts .

Also experiencing bluetooth issues in the car as well. New Ford Sync, I now dread receiving a text while I am driving...

I'm having the exact same issue on my ford edge (SYNC). If I can't get this fixed, the pixel might be going back to the store :-(

Me too. I have a 2015 Ford Fusion. What a giant hassle.

I ended up just turning off the "Message" privileges on the Pixel BT connection to "SYNC". I'm gonna just keep it that way. I really don't need text messages popping up on my display anyway ...

If you haven't go to setting then support and send Google a feedback email regarding this issue.

I have a Lincoln which is still a Ford product and it has Sync in it. I only got my phone yesterday but I have had a lot of driving to do over the last two days. The Pixel synced up easily and have been using it on Bluetooth with the car for almost two days and not having any issues. Wonder if it's an app conflict or a setting somewhere.

Thinking it's a Nougat issue. Can't receive text message notifications on Ford Sync Touch on 2016 Ford Explorer with LG v20.

Mine is still an issue. Sync's no problem but keeps saying there is a notification and won't stop dinging

Sounds like a Domestic issue, my Yota has no issues ;-)

In all seriousness, if y'all have multiple Bluetooth devices you use check the Bluetooth settings. I use my truck and headphones, sometimes my XL "connects" to both, so I just have to swipe my notification shade down and hit the X for whatever I'm not actually using.

This only happens at the gym when I use my beats, it mistakenly "connects" to my truck also, and causes a lot of issues. But as soon as I "disconnect" it from the truck (by pressing the X), the headphones work perfectly.

Was checking this thread to see if anyone had tried Disable USB Audio Routing in developer settings. But I'm guessing for the issue you all are experiencing that would be counter productive. My issue appears to be an issue in GM cars where you cannot stay connected in the car--or as I experience it, the car never picks up phone calls.

Anyway, there appears to be several issues with Bluetooth since at least 7.1, all of which makes testing a bit of a mine field for Google so I'm not sure we can expect fixes real quick. If the Fords have been experiencing their issue since birth of the Pixel phone, then perhaps you all will get a fix shortly.

BT in my car has always worked fine.
With BT speakers and BT headset, it's a different story.
Weak signal, frequent drop-outs.

This update did nothing to fix that.

Frankly I am surprised that simple BT connections, a technology that was figured-out years ago, and one that routinely works perfectly on far less sophisticated devices, has come back to be the Achilles heel for the Pixel.

Not only that but the handoff between devices still does not work. When my earpiece is on and I shut off the car, it should carry over the conversation to the ear. It does not. The call goes internal to the phone, ignoring the earpiece. Basic stuff BT. Basic.

I noticed my bluetooth range is poor with my pixel. When connected to bluetooth headphone, volume would decrease as I walk 6ft+ away from my phone. I was able to walk around the house with the same headphone when connected to my previous phone.

This seems like a big issue for Google not to address it. Has there been no news of this from their end? Some indication they are working on this? Could this really be more of a hardware issue than software? Seems like a big thing to screw up on a flagship phone at this day and age...

Everything you just said about Bluetooth is incorrect! The bt spec is constantly evolving and always being implemented slightly differently by every manufacturer.

Most manufacturers fully test the iOS integration, since there's only one standard in use there and it covers a huge swatch of the mobile world in one go. Android and other platforms have always been hit and miss.

After the latest update so far no more issues with my Ford sync connection. No more annoying constant notification dinging.
