Update still rolling or pulled?

I received my update on Thursday (in Ohio), but I was also signed up for the beta. I haven't noticed any issues, to be honest. Battery life has dropped slightly since the update, but that's to be expected for about the first week, or so I've been told. I still easily make it through my day with at least 40% remaining, so I'm not terribly concerned about it.

You guys should use moo cows instructions from above to do it manually. It's so easy. I'm not good with that stuff and I had a fussy baby on my lap while I did it. Now I have kit kat!

I went for the download and did it without a computer. I use ES file explorer, so after the download, I opened the .zip and the file referenced in the instructions was there. Moved in into the SD folder and renamed. Followed the rest of the steps and voila, KitKat Christmas!

Holy slow rollout.....

I assume this is still going out?

I got faster rollout updates on my GNexus

I think it has been pulled, the link to the pdf on Verizon's support site that was linked to the Kit Kat update pdf now goes to the old 12.15.10 update pdf.

From Verizon support twitter page:
"Starting today: Android 4.4, #KitKat is being pushed out in phases to #DROID Ultra/ Maxx/Mini Software Update: DROID ULTRA by MOTOROLA and DROID MAXX by MOTOROLA | Verizon Wireless pic.twitter.com/pdv1Ywts6K"

the Software Update: DROID ULTRA by MOTOROLA and DROID MAXX by MOTOROLA | Verizon Wireless link is the one I am talking about.

I read on Droid Life that Kellex (He's the owner of the site) is planning on looking into the Kit Kat update for the Droid phones. He's aware of the issues mentioned in the Motorola Forums and wants to know if Verizon or Motorola have postponed the roll-out.

While I'm no expert, it appears the only people here who are talking about Kit Kat were either in the first wave of the OTA update or they side loaded it. I don't recall hearing anyone talk about an OTA update for the past week.

My bet is the update has been pulled and Motorola/Verizon won't restart the OTA updates until the issues have been resolved. To me it's not a huge deal - I mainly just want the update to Kit Kat so I can use Google Wallet for Tap and Pay.

I imagine if there are issues that need to be solved by Motorola that there weren't many/any engineers working the last week or so. The holiday vacation may delay work on a fix.

It sounds like some Maxx phones have had problems because of the KitKat update, but not all. I had two small issues and both were resolved very quickly by the app developers. I think there are going to be problems with any update, so I hope it rolls out to everyone soon. I really, really like the camera update. The new control focus feature is awesome. Our camera has come a long way since its initial release.

I say KitKat for all!!

I side loaded the update and posted in another thread along with a screenshot. No issues with any of my apps but I can't say that others won't have issues.

Here's a link to the article on Droid Life concerning the Kit Kat update for the Droid phones - click here

While the article really doesn't provide any new information the comments following the article are pretty interesting.
