I'm just now finding out that the recent update to 4.3 messed up my root. I have looked around online for a fix and see a couple of different fixes, but haven't had any that worked. Do I need to completely start from scratch and re-root or is there a quick fix I need to use? I'm a total noob, and to be honest I've forgotten exactly how I rooted to begin with. I used wug's nexus root toolkit and I have superSU and Busybox free installed on my phone, if that helps. Sorry for being so helpless...

ETA: NEVERMIND. An incorrect windows driver was my problem. Fixed that and got it rooted. Thanks all the same.

Glad you got it fixed. Sometimes the difference in updated drivers can be a pain.

What if my phone was not rooted before the 4.3 update? I've tried so many different sets of instructions to root my phone. None have been successful. Odin gives me "Fail" no matter which tar.md5 I use. vroot failed to recognize the phone. Below are examples of instructions I've tried:
1) How to root Jelly Bean LK5 & MB1 & MD4 - Galaxy S3 Guides/Tutorials - TeamUSCellular
2) Rooting my SG3 4.1.2 SCH-R530U - Galaxy S3 Development - TeamUSCellular
3) How to Root Samsung R530U
4) Also the above instructions, in this forum.

Is my Samsung Galaxy S3 just not capable of being rooted?
model#- SCH-R530U
Android version - 4.3
Baseband - R530UVXUBMJA

Does anyone have ideas on how I can get this rooted?
Thanks in advance for your feedback.
