Update

I know they did, but HTC themselves did not say it officially... And even if it's actually true - I'd definitely like to see even more improvements to camera's color saturation and light metering on my US-based phone.

They heard from HTC media contacts. How is that not official? Did you want a tweet or something? :P

I agree that they can still make improvements, but they just aren't out there yet.

Also, different carrier versions might have different firmware numbers, but that doesn't mean they aren't the latest available (does that make sense?)

I'm on 1.26.502.10 on AT&T "NEW YORK" area. So if some have 1.26 and some 1.29 to me it's obvious we are all not on the same firmware update unless I'm missing something????

I'm with Sprint in Spokane Washington, and I'm running 1.29.651.7 out of the box. This is my second Htc One, the first had problems with the capacitive buttons. So far, this one has been running perfect.

Philly ,
under software information then software number I have 1.27.531.7
is that the correct place I'm looking at? Am on T-Mobile
if it is correct? Should I be expecting an update ?
Thanks.

Being that phones for different carriers require different hardware, it would be impossible for them all to have identical firmware.

So just because your phone doesn't have the highest numbered firmware out there doesn't mean it's outdated, just that it's different.

I'm on 1.26 on ATT.
The 1.29 is probably the HTC software version, and I doubt is carrier specific. We'll get it when ATT wants to let us get it...until then...LG Optimus G Pro.

Mine is 1.27.531.7 on t mobile

AT&T 1.26, T-Mobile 1.27, and Sprint 1.29. I'll bet you five bucks that Verizon will be 1.28...

I'm running 1.29 developers edition. Last number is a 3. I don't think the last number has anything to do with it. I'm up to date. And yes the developer editions get updates first. One of the reasons I bought one. Although I believe all us models are up to date and just have different numbers based on carriers since they include carrier bloat ware and other carrier based features and go through carriers the number will be slightly different since technically the firmware is slightly different. The only number that is accurate to htc's firmware release numbers in the US is the developers edition and I believe the unlocked version.
