Update???

I have only had my phone 4 days...

I am at work and I look over at my phone and I have the green android guy on the screen with a message...

Downloading....
Do not turn off target!!

Is this how updates are done? No warning?

Yeah AT&T/Samsung wont let you stop updates anymore. Just check if you are MF3 in the settings app. That update does not block Geohot's root method. Next freeze or rename the app wssyncmldm.apk in system\apps to block future updates. (I changed my app to wssyncmldm.apk.bak)

NOTE you will need root to do that.

Oh nvm looks like you put the phone in download mode. The update only takes a few minutes if you are in download mode just turn the phone off and back on

good to hear, if we had an unlocked bootloader download mode would be our friend. Unfortunately now it is only good to restore if we mess up our phones.
