Updated 31 Oct.. Nexus 5.... So finally arrived.

Re: Nexus 5... So it's here

Note 2 for almost a year. Did the MotoX for 14 days. Nice phone and batt life. Camera was so/so. Prior to it I did 5 days w/G2. I liked it a lot but had to try MX. Back on the G2 and it is really great. A fairly light skin and easy to customize. The screen is second to none and battery life is better than my rooted and rom'd N2. I cannot say enough good things about this device. It isn't perfect, but close. Only android that I have not rooted! Hard to get excited about the N5 (for the first time a Nexus phone doesn't call my name!) because the G2 is really that good.

Just my 2 cents. Gotta love the choices with Android.

Re: Nexus 5... So it's here

From what my buddy tells me it's very good. He seems to have better coverage than I and I am with a major network.

It sounds like I need to move to Canada then! Are there no GSM networks with similarly priced plans?

Believe me we have the HIGHEST rates in the world. This is a small company that is relatively new, it will take them some time to make up some ground and once they do they will increase the prices like everyone else. As for GSM networks, all our networks are GSM actually except very few such as public mobile actually. And to answer your question not really. I have a very cheap GSM plan compared to everyone else which is :52$ tax included because yes here we have 15% sales tax :S. I get: unlimited minutes, 1Gb of data voicemail and caller id. I get 5$ off because I am a student which I have already included in the price.

For the same plan my friends pay 70-80$ here it's ridiculous.

No it seems we need to move to the UK as from what comments I've seen they get way better deals than US or Canada.

Interesting articles, thanks for sharing. I didn't know that Canada had the highest rates in the world for cell phones.

Europe in general has pretty low rates. When I was stationed in Europe I didn't pay anywhere near what I pay on Verizon.

Unlimited landline minutes
Unlimited texts
Unlimited data

Re: Nexus 5... So it's here

Anyone think the phone just isn't ready or they've experienced bugs so they're holding off an announcement until it's fixed?? I dunno... just a thought.

Yeah this seems very plausible. Why else would they intentionally "leak" hi res images and the price right there on the GP store saying "hey yeah here it is" as a confirmation. Probably still working out the kinks.

Maybe waiting until they get a decent amount of phones in stock so they don't run out like last year.

What a great deal! I remember when I was stationed in Germany, their prices were much better than here in the US.

"Kinks" would be software related only, since the devices are already in the distribution warehouses.
