Calling it now: Google has an event planned today. With the rumors suggesting a November 1st release, this is the most plausible day for announcement. Also, Google usually hosts big events on Wednesdays. Get your wallets ready, folks. I wouldn't be surprised if pre-orders opened up today.

Unlikely.....if they do an event it'll likely at min have a day til they announce the event. Like with the G+ event. I also don't see them just saying here's the phone/Kit Kat without them streaming something.

It's possible that I'm wrong but it doesn't seem likely that they will just drop the phone and/or announcement with no schedule.

It's possible that I'm wrong but it doesn't seem likely that they will just drop the phone and/or announcement with no schedule.

They could also have private media event where they invite few tech blogs to cover the Nexus 5. They did this last year with the Nexus 4 and 10. If they go this route they will post similar ads and software tutorials are there youtube channel for the Nexus 5 like they did for the Nexus 4.They could also stream this private media event which would actually b more up close and personal which I would like to see. I very much like video exclusive verge had with Google last year with the Nexus 4 and Nexus 10.

Since they did it with Breakfast with Sundar and the G+ event, my guess is they will stream an event. But since they haven't announced anything today of when or what time it would be tomorrow, I kinda doubt it'll take place tomorrow.

Having it at home and being free yet still able to reach all your fans is rly the best way for them to do it. But I kinda doubt it'll just randomly go live with no sort of announcement before it happens.

I bet nothing happens today, tomorrow, or Friday.

At this point none of these rumors have any more backing than the ones that have been proven to be false thus far. My strategy now is just to keep monitoring the sites a few times a day to see if it launches or not.

Most announcements are made on Tues. If I had to guess I would say next Tues they will have an event. But I honestly have no idea what's holding Google up atm, it's clearly out there and rdy and I'd be a little surprised if they didn't make the announcement by Halloween considering the tie in with Kit Kat.

G+stream is good but also YouTube as well. I would say for all their but events that major release new software or hardware. I think Google Glasses,Watch and any hardware featuring a full #.0 should have full event.

I think HQ us just do big facility to tap off every time a do event. There Headquarters is also a huge RD facility which probably wouldn't want any media slowing down work or getting incite to projects Google wants keep to themselves.

Yep. I've been saying this for awhile now. It's so obvious that everyone is overthinking this.

I've been saying for a while now that it SHOULD be Halloween based on the fact that its Google and its quite frankly the perfect time to do it. But this is a major release of Android and you would think they would have a press event to showcase what it can do. Tomorrow is Halloween and nothing has been announced so I wouldn't say I'm overthinking it, just have doubts that it'll happen. I'd be happy to be wrong though since I want to order this thing asap.

Yea, it would make sense for tomorrow, but this is a new OS bump AND a new device. I just don't think they drop them out of thin air for no reason.

I agree, it does seem odd to not have a large conference for it but who knows.

I thankfully am fine waiting, unlike some people its not a big deal be it released tomorrow or a month from now.

It looks like $125 more than it should sell for through other channels.
