I updated my phone (never rooted before) it is now running 2.2 which I love, but now I want to root it. I want to know if someone is working to get the root working for it.

Hey man... before some trolls come in here, let me just tell you.
Look around and if you want to root/keep root, DON'T UPDATE YOUR PHONE.
Generally there are people working on an updated version of root... and it comes out like 1 hour to 4 days after the update comes through.

So yeah... no root method yet for people who updated officially.
There will most likely soon be a root method for people with 2.2... just give it some time. Unrevoked is usually doing this, but no ETA right now.

A better question is who isn't working to make 2'2 rootable.

There are ALWAYS folks working on rooting these devices. I don't think they've found an exploit yet for the 2.2 Evo though.

You can either wait for them to find it or downgrade, root, and flash a rooted 2.2 ROM. :)

Unrevoked is the only team I have heard of them getting to work on this. No one at XDA has mentioned anything. Hopefully someone will. Like stated above. There are many threads on this so just search. Some others are not so nice as others ;-)
