Updated to Froyo.... no Camera or camcorder.

Go to Settings > About phone > Software information > Baseband version and verify that it's 2.05.00.06.11

does your phone say this?

Now download and run Unrevoked 3 to root and install ClockworkMod recovery

Then plug in your phone to your computer and on your phone make sure you have USB debugging checked by settings>applications>development.

Then run Unrevoked 3 from you computer and it will root your phone.

After to check you should have a superuser app in your drawer.

I have all that. Rooted at this point, got superuser etc etc I have installed the wireless tether app that requires root, so thats good to go. Its the next step that remains the issue, like I said I had froyo read to rock it was installed just no camera/camcorder, just black screen. I restored back to 2.1 with a nandroid backup.

Then just try to re install and wipe first that should fix it. I didn't have any issues, good luck :)

Thanks for all the help, It is def appreciated, going nuts thinking i was doing something wrong. Glad to have confirmed I have done all the necc steps.

For all those interested, the issue seems to be the tether.ap.kernel file thats causing the no camera issue, I reinstalled without running that worked beautifully after running it no camera and that notification is back.

Download dinc_ota.zip from xda then rename it to "update" if your using a windows computer because it will add the zip for you. Then just plug your phone into your computer and drag the the updaye file to the root of your sdcard. Then reboot into recovery (make sure you remove the PB31IMG.zip file before doing this) then in recovery you will see the triangle then hit the power and volume up key at the same time you should then get the option to select the update.zip

Anyone have a link to the dinc_ota.zip? I was having the same camera/camcorder issues after the froyo update. So I unrooted, went back to stock. When it booted back up, it prompted me to install a system update. I did that and after it rebooted and applied the update, my baseband version still says 1.00.03.04.06. So where do I get this OTA update? This is driving me nuts!

Thanks!

Wireless tether works just fine just dont install the tether.ap.kernel thing. I am now having a new issue got everything else working Camera got all my contacts etc now when I try to load sites like androidcentral it dumps me back to the home screen. I am thinking it has something to do with flash. Anyone else noticing issues with internet.

No... anytime I would go to a page like androidcentral anything that was running flash on the page it would just end the browser and go back to the phone home. No notification no f/c just dropped outta the browser completely ending it. It looks like the version of Flash I had on there was not compatible with Froyo.

If it was Flash 10.1, it is only compatible with Froyo. I haven't had any issues, though.

Try clearing cache/cookies and see if that does anything. THen try reinstalling the Flash.apk.

I'm not having any problems with flash either and the above advice should work.

I cleared the cache and cookies first thing that didnt help. Installing the link from XDA did. I have had it working since then just wanted to pass along any info to anyone else having similar issue. Lots and trial and error with this but seems to be working pretty well now. I am use to tinkering to get things to work since I was coming from the Storm 1
