Updated to Marshmallow - WiFi doesn't work

I am UK based with an unlocked model.

Upgraded on Tuesday through LG bridge but now the G4 will not connect to my home WiFi network. It also struggles to connect to my work WiFi.

At home it will say "Saved" or "Authentication Error" and repeatedly ask me for my password which it just doesn't want to accept as correct!

Has anyone else had WiFi issues with the update?

LG bridge now also won't connect to the phone!!

I also notice the battery is draining very quickly and it is overheating.

2nd Flagship I've had this year after the OneM9 both have been underwhelming (apart from the G4 camera)

It sounds like one of your apps didn't like the move to Marshmallow. Have you tried rebooting into Safe Mode (only system apps run in safe mode)? Any misbehaving app that overheats your phone and drains the battery should also show up in the battery stats in Settings > Battery & power saving. I would also strongly recommend a factory reset, if you haven't already done so after the upgrade.

Probably stupid question - will a factory reset keep the marshmallow install?

And how do you start in safe mode?

To start in safe mode:

• With the screen on, press and hold the Power key.
• In the options menu that displays, press and hold the first option (Power off).
• 'Restart in Safe mode' prompt will display.
• Tap OK to restart in Safe Mode.
• Device will display 'Safe mode' at the bottom of the screen.

Once you're in safe mode, try to connect to Wifi and see if it connects normally and if battery drain and heat are normal. Restart to turn safe mode back off.

The factory reset removes all personal data such as downloaded apps, accounts and data and restores the G4 to its current default state (Marshmallow). That way you can make sure that your downloaded applications don't misbehave (which sometimes happens when apps use cached data from a previous OS). Please back up your important personal data (pictures etc.) and remove any SD cards before performing a factory reset. AC has a little guide for how to do a factory reset on the G4:

Redoing the Marshmallow update seems to have worked in LG Bridge.

WIFI and some other app issues have been resolved which is nice!

If you already downloaded 6.0 then it would say you are up to date. How did you re download it?

I connected to LG Bridge and there was an option on the 3rd tab (sorry this is from memory) something along the lines of "update error recovery" which I think repaired/reinstalled the update which seems to have resolved the issue.
