I see that Google Fi is selling phones other than its own Pixel series. For anyone here that has a Samsung or Motorola phone bought from Google Fi and active on Google Fi, I have this question:
Are you getting updates to Android at the same rate/frequency as the Google Pixel phones?
I know my Pixel 4 XL got Android 11 nearly as soon as Google wrote it , and my Pixel 2 XL got the updates ASAP as well. My wife's Pixel 3a is also on the update curve, so I know that Google pushes out the updates to its own phones as fast as it can.
What I don't know is whether Google also pushes updates out to (for example) Samsung phones, or are they delayed as they first pass through the Samsung quality-inspection filter like all the rest of Samsung's phones on other carriers? My suspicion is that they are delayed, but I can't confirm this (and, of course, a call to Google said "they get updates at the same rate", which I find hard to believe).
Thanks for the information.
