updates (straight talk)

Do straight talk phones get updates? Alot of them are still running Kit Kat or Android 2.3. Any ideas or input. Currently I have a s5 galaxy with Verizon and I am switching to prepaid. Done with contracts and high bills.

Yes they do I have been with straight talk for 4 years after BEING DONE with verizon "great deals". I love straight talk. It will depends on the phone variant many of us use international version phones with att sims from straight talk and they come when Samsung does that country. If you BYOP and it is a US build updates will come with US OTA roll outs. My international S4 took 4 months longer then my husbands company's verizon . I now have a galaxy S6 edge EU (F) model. It is not Samsung pay compatible yet.
