Updating a post?...

So I started a thread in the Pixel 9a forum and I'd like to build off that first post. My question... Can I continue to update that original post rather than adding a new one or replying to myself? If I can update can someone please explain how because I looked to that option. Thanks in advance.

I moved this from the Ask A Question forum to the Site Feedback forum.

I think regular members can only edit a post for a short time after it was initially created. @Bla1ze can shed more light on this.

In general, it's best to simply add on to the thread, even if it's one you started. In terms of the flow of conversation, it can be much more confusing if you edit your original post, especially if it's edited multiple times.

When you're signed-in, there's 3 dots ( •••) down in the lower left corner of your post(s), where you can access 'Edit' or 'Delete'. And welcome to Android Central by the way !;-)

Thank you. If I remember correctly, bla1ze is one of the old names I remember from the CrackBerry days. The nostalgia the last couple of days scrolling this site has been worth every penny of my new phone 😁

Thanks so much. Definitely no three dots on the post in question. Although I did get the next to the unfollow option. I'll keep digging and get the hang of it.

Edit: so you were absolutely right but only with this reply. Not with the original post. Once again... I'll keep digging

30 minutes. After that it's no longer editable and a new post must be created. The limit is enough for folks to correct any possible mistakes, but also acts as a spam deterrent as spammers love to post random things and then when the thread / post dies off many hours/days/weeks later, they insert spam.

Got it. Thank you.

Hmmm, that's odd, as I have the ••• dots above & below all my 'original posts' (thread starting posts).
••• above... for 'Edit thread', and ••• below... for 'Edit' of the 'original post'.
