Updating from Nexus 4

I am updating to the 6P in a few days from my Nexus 4 and I am wondering whether I should simply set it up using my usual gmail account as new and let it do its own update/restore from my Google account or use the option where I can pair the 6P with the N4 using NFC/BT at the options screen when setting it up.

If using the N4 NFC/BT option, will it also restore media and other data from the N4 or in either case I will have to manually restore media/data.

Having just done the exact same upgrade I can tell you it basically makes no difference. Only Google data will transfer over either way. Do whichever sounds cooler to you.

I was not able to pair my N4 to my 6P, so I just set up my 6P with my google account.

Thanks for the replies, I guess I will not bother with the N4 when setting up the 6P.
