I was just in the about device section and went to check for updates and when I clicked it, it said 'Your device has been modified. Software updates are not available.'

I already have Jellybean 4.1.1 etc only reason I was looking for an update is because of the glitch in 4.1.1. I dunno how many have heard about it but ya you can crack a lock screen just by going through the emergency call thing because between the part for a split second it shows your home screen and with enough patience you can crack one and android said the next update will include this bug fix so was just checking for it...but ya so with CWM and Odin installed can you no longer get updates or what?

I'm still new to android etc this is my first one otherwise I've always been Blackberry

Start by doing a reboot of the phone and see if that helps

EDIT : sorry did not read the title right. You are modified you have to have original to update from original. You would need to go back to stock.

So basically I need to reformat my phone and go back to factory, basically wipe it clear then I can update...otherwise I can't update anymore...

I was just thinking something. If to go back to stock you need to install the os again couldn't you just install the update through the computer instead?

Since your device has a custom recovery installed it will be flagged as "Modified". In order for OTA updates to work again you'll either have to restore the factory recovery and restore a factory image without root access.

...could you explain how I do that lol.
Like I said I'm not very familiar with androids yet.
