Updating verizon note 3 to lollipop

I'm planning to update my Verizon note 3 SM-N900V to lollipop through Kies, here in Pakistan. I am not sure if the phone's sim unlocked or not. And currently I'm not using a Verizon sim, its a local mobile operator. If I update my phone to lollipop, will my sim work? or it would go back to default and lock it to Verizon sim cards only?
