Upgrade from S7?

My wife has had her AT&T Lilac Purple GS9+ since last Sunday and just can't get over how much better it is versus her GS7.

The GS9/9+ is dramatically superior to the GS7, in seemingly every manner but cost. ...and I have a relatively new GS7.

Yes, it's worth the upgrade. Much improved phone. But...... the battery on the S9+ will not come close to getting a heavy user through the day. I have to charge this phone twice daily. My S7, now that was absolutely horrible with battery life. Dead by noon. Samsungs battery performance still blows.

For me, the additional RAM, camera, the larger battery and more screen real estate made me upgrade from the GS8. In the past, I would not have purchased the Plus variant because the additional expense was for the real estate. The GS9+ features somewhat justify the upgrade as more than a spec bump.

Last weekend, I upgraded my S7 to the S9. I love it but I am unsure if I should switch to the S9+. As a petite female, the sticking point for me was the size of the 9+. I even went back to the store a day later and still thought it was too big and looked at a friends S9+ and felt the same. But I am still soooo torn. Any insight?

You must have the exynos version then because the snapdragon version battery is a beast

Snapdragon

Have you tried a factory reset, I'm one of the hardest people ever on a battery and I can get 8 hours of phone calls, yes I said 8 and get 5 hours of screen time with a total of maybe 16 hours before I recharge my phone

I have the S7 Edge and was really hesitant about upgrading. But my phone has been getting laggy with occasional freezes. It was either factory reset my S7 Edge or go to S9+. Saw a Verizon commercial for $300 off the S9+ and pulled the trigger. Picking it up tomorrow.

Nah, I've had the S2,3, 5 6 7 and now 9+. I've tried all the tricks in the past. First day got 7 hours of sot which is fantastic. Since then, the battery has gotten worse everyday. It's par for the course with their phones from my experience. It's a fantastic phone though. No phone except the bb keyone with the lower snapdragon 625 and led screen ever got my though a day. That's why I have an lgv20 with 3 extra batteries. Just swap them in and move on. But I have to use this s9 as my daily driver for a year to fulfill the free insights program. I'm fine with it. I charge it twice a day or bring a battery pack.

Me too, but I bit the dust and got the plus and I LOVE IT! I do have a case with a wrist strap on it because I'm not used to the size and the strap is for an occasional "just in case it slips". I haven't come close to dropping it. Went to the zoo. Went to the science center. Snapped pictures for a whole weekend and didn't even come close to dropping it once. I'm glad I went for the larger one.

Another consideration. There are a lot of baked in things with software that S7 doesnt have. For example the whole concept of reminders with a full on widget is a huge upgrade over the stock experience on s7. Compound this with integration of commands you give via your Gear and it is truly a major upgrade.

My main concern was going from such an easy to pocket S7 to the s9plus. I have no regrets ... it's all good.
