Samsung is still having really good deals right now, and if I trade in my Galaxy watch, I could get the new watch for $190. just wondering if you guys think it's worth an upgrade? There's nothing wrong with my watch that I have, it's a little slower than when I first got it but everything still works fine. didn't know if there were any real differences between the watch I have and the new Galaxy watch 3 besides the new health stuff.

I'd go for it. IMO, the GW3 is much better looking than GW. Also lighter and sleeker on the wrist.

Go for it man. I came from a Gear S3 Frontier and I find myself using it more now than I did before. Nothing wrong with a little refresh.

It's a great watch and worth the upgrade I would go for it.

I finally did it! I ordered the Galaxy watch 3 today. With my trade in and Samsung deals at at the moment, it was $119 plus tax . That's real hard to pass up. I should get it next week!

I couldn't pass up on the deal Samsung offered on GW3 so I ordered one as well. However, that order was on 2/13 and I'm still waiting, delayed due to bad weather. Latest email said it should ship by 2/27.

Oh wow That's taking a while. mine says preparing shipment, but it's supposed to be here by March 4th.

I'm sitting here with a Gear S2 Classic trying to decide if I should upgrade. Stupid watch still works reasonably well and the battery still lasts a day (if just barely). But I don't use it for much other than checking notifications, weather, steps, and alarms. I don't know if I would use it more if it were less clunky and with a bigger, better screen. $150 off right now.

Don't pay too much attention to emails from Samsung. Seems like the right hand doesn't know what the left is doing.
I received conflicting emails one was the same email as you with the 3/5 ship date, however it was preceded by one with an shipped notice and
Fedex tracking number. That's after receiving several emails with the same delayed statement and each time changing the ship date.

Fedex tracking says pkg has left Irving Tx. with a delivery by 3/02.

I received the GS3 this past Monday evening, nice watch but fairly heavy especially for me since I haven't worn a watch in about 10yrs. feels like I have a brick on my arm. Setup seems easy enough, I do need to remove / disable some functions (Bixby, Samsung pay) don't have a need for either and I'm sure there will be others as I move along. Samsung does load things with bloatware and I'd like to remove / disable them, same on my new S21 Ultra. Been looking at youtube videos hopefully I'll find one that helps.

You can hide the apps from the Galaxy Wear app on your phone. Open open the app, go to manage apps, then tap the red dash and save.

For those saying to upgrade, how is the battery life vs the galaxy watch? My wife currently has the smaller version of the watch and I have the larger. Because of the signals where she works, hers barely makes it to the end of the day. (They have REALLY crappy signal in the building) Hoping that she would get just a bit more life going with the larger Watch 3 but the specs look to be the same as the smaller watch. Guessing they gave up battery for thickness.

Also, are the watchbands all 22mm for the new watch 3 (Larger size)

1) GW3 has less life than OG GW, especially in the larger sizes since the battery is smaller. I also had the smaller GW and upgraded to the larger GW3. Battery is slightly better for me. When you mention "signal", are you referencing to the LTE version? I have the BT version so can't really help with that, but I'd guess it would be only slightly better given the battery size.

2) Yes.

Yes. She is not allowed to carry her phone on the floor. So, when she is out of range, the only signal it has is LTE. The biggest issue is that in addition to that, she has no wifi to use, and the LTE signal is really weak (losing and finding connection constantly). So, by the end of an 8 hour day, her small watch is down to almost red, if not red almost every day. Was just hoping that she might be able to make it home with a little bit more by getting the larger watch3. It might also help if we could figure out how to get it to connect to the guest wifi they have (which requires a browser sign in/acceptance of terms). Had read that this was possible. Just have not been able to find that again.

Just an update
Apparently the large watch 3 is a SIGNIFICANTLY larger battery than the smaller galaxy watch

Her typical day had her with 20-30% battery at the end of the work day on the smaller galaxy watch.

With the larger watch 3, she came home with almost 80% battery

Same settings on both watches.

With the lighter design, she's a happy camper right now.

I get a lot of notifications on my G3 46 inch model, use about 50% battery during the day. I keep the charger in the bathroom, just plug it in for 30 minutes while getting ready in the morning, and tops it off enough to ensure that I get through the day
