Upgrade to DX?

Hey guys, I dropped my phone at work tonight and to my dismay, I broke my
D1 .

I took the battery out, reboot, but the screen remains black. The LED blinks, my keyboard lights up, and I can hear my ringtone when I get a call, but the screen stays blank. Must have broken the ribbon for the display.

Well, my sister is a very lucky girl. She ordered the Droid X from VZW and Best Buy....she ended up getting 2 DX's after miscommunications and being on a waiting list. So she is using one, and she was gonna sell the other on FleaBay.

Should I pay the $80 to try and get a new D1(I hear they are running out of refurbs) or should I buy the DX from my sister (at a cheaper price tha store, becasue my sister loves her only brother.)?

I favor the D1 because of the qwerty, but I suppose I can get used to swype and the perks of a bigger screen and more attention on updates than the D1 (you know it's true). I also have the dock and car dock, but I can always give them to my friend who still has a D1.

I would like to hear your opinions on this matter....should I pay the deductible or just buy the X off my sister?

I think your sister should do the right thing and give back the extra phone to Verizon. You asked.

I thank you for your response. I did tell her to do so, but she wanted to try and get some extra cash by selling it instead of returning it. Unfortunately, she cannot return it, because it's past the 30 day purchase price, or something like that.

***She did pay for both, It's not like she got one for free. Thought I'd add that.

How much was she trying to sell her X for?

Whatever the going price is for an X on eBay...something close to retail without a plan....like $550?
