Upgrade?

Got it today. Setup was smooth and easy and backup restore was beautiful including recreating the exact home page layout from my Keyone. I have the BlackBerry suite and keyboard installed and works great.

Phone works great but for just one issue which will require me to exchange the phone at bestbuy on Thursday... the front camera doesn't work. Tried soft reset, safe mode and even a factory reset but to no avail.

However pretty pleased with the quality and performance. Will report back once I get the replacement.
I know what the situation is as I was with BlackBerry from 2008 until 2017 and still visit Crackberry regularly to catch up on the goss.

I use the BlackBerry suite on my 7.1 as I could never give up the keyboard and password keeper. I don't bother with the hub anymore though.

Enjoy your new Nokia. I've had mine for over a year now and still love it.

That's very disappointing. Hope you get it sorted.

We'll get it done right! Ordered a case, lil bugger is slippery like an eel but indeed no fingerprints on the back lol.
Haha, yes I've always had a case on my slimy bugger. On the plus side, after a year, it still looks pristine.

The number system that Nokia uses is a little strange. For instance the 8 is a 2 year old phone whereas the 7.2 was just recently released. On top of that a lot of the models are not friendly with Canadian carriers with the International versions usually only half of the frequency bands that are used in Canada.

The 7.2 supports the Canadian bands but only if you buy the Canadian version (TA1178). Steer clear of the International Version (TA1196) that you will find on Amazon and such. Right now you can get the 7.2 Canadian version for $450 CAD at bestbuy.ca.

Thanks! That's strange about the international version - the Amazon seller says in several questions that the phone works on Telus. It wouldn't surprise me if it didn't support some of the smaller carriers, though.

So if what you're saying is also correct, does the international version support only some of the Telus (and other Canadian carriers') bands, and I will have poor call quality and dropped calls if I get it?

The Best Buy phone has 4 GB RAM, so it's not much of an upgrade from KeyOne BE.

The dual SIM TA 1196 international version with 6GB RAM works with the following LTE bands:
LTE band 1,3,5,7,8,20,28,38,40,41

Telus uses the following bands:
2/4/7/12/13/17/29

Survey says.... don't buy it!

The Canadian version TA 1178 supports the following LTE bands:
LTE band 1,2,3,4,5,7,8,12,17,13,28,66

Even though I'm exchanging the phone tomorrow I'm putting it through some testing. Definitely has whole day battery. Just finished watching/casting a concert video off youtube that lasted 1.5 hours. The HDR screen is awesome, easily adapting to Pie coming from Oreo. If my exchange phone is faultless I'm definitely keeping it.

BTW signal levels both Wi-Fi and cellular are better than my Keyone. NOTABLE-00005.jpeg

Canadian version it is then! Do you know if there is a Canadian 6GB version, and who carries it?
