Upgrading from a Droid Maxx

I've been into a Verizon store a few times to ask a question about my current phone (Droid Maxx). It seems customary for the Verizon reps to pull up my account as part of getting assistance with the phone. In the process of doing this, I've been informed that I'm eligible for an early edge upgrade; I didn't sign up for the edge plan when I joined Verizon.

Initially, the Verizon reps were selling me on how the Droid Turbo would be a good upgrade from the Maxx. When I asked how the Galaxy S6 compared, the Verizon rep indicated that the Droid Turbo was better when it came to battery life and had a better camera. Now that the HTC One M9 is out, I'm wondering how it compares.

From what I see on the Verizon website when I compare all three phones, is that the M9 has the shortest battery life when it comes to stand by and browsing time. I tend to use the phone quite a bit, but lately the Droid Maxx isn't holding up to the 48 hour browse time.

So, is it worthwhile to take advantage of the edge promo and get an M9 based on current usage of the Droid Maxx?

I find the battery life of the M9 comparable to other recent flagships, but you're not gonna get 48 hrs with heavy usage. By the way, there's no way the Droid Turbo has a better camera than the S6. I don't like much about the S6 at all, but they nailed the display and camera on that phone.

Agree, if the rep told you the Turbo had a better camera than the S6 they pretty much lost all credibility.

That being said, I had the same concerns as you about battery life so I opted to get a new HTC One M8 off of Amazon. I had the Moto Razr Maxx HD, the M8 is a huge upgrade and the battery life is really good. I can get 2 days off charger with normal use. Granted some people are reporting great battery life on the M9 too but it seems to be sporadic. It seems this year's phones are hit or miss when it comes to battery life. I have had the M8 for a month and I couldn't be happier.
