I just switched from being a long time Blackberry user to a (so far so good) HTC Desire HD so apologies for being the newbie here.
I was reading online that the Gmail App is now independent of Android and there is a new downloadable version in Market. I looked on Market and the Gmail App doesnt appear to be there, nor do the links provided on the Google site work. I can't find any way to manually check for application updates on my phone except for the System Software Updates which seems reserved for the OS only.
I'm living in Germany and I currently have Version 2.3 of Google Mail running on Froyo. My questions are:
- Where do I check on my phone to see if there is an update for Google Mail (or for that matter any apps)?
- Why can I not find the Gmail App in Market?
- Is there a difference between the Gmail and Google Mail app?
Thanks in advance everyone!
