Rumored the Fold 4 will have a built in Spen, better cameras and more durable screen that doesn't break as easily.

Will you upgrade from your S22 Ultra if this is true?

No....I won't give up the S22U. I will trade in my Fold 3. I have a use for 2 phones so for me it's the best of both worlds. If I had to chose just one it would be difficult. I don't want to give up the Folds big inner screen though I find the outside smaller than I prefer. It's tolerable but I prefer something closer to the S22U. I know carrying 2 devices kind of defeats the purpose of the Fold but since I have to carry 2 devices anyway it works for me.

The outer screen I totally agree with. I don't know why it's so narrow. None of the tech review people on youtube can figure this out as well. Make the outer screen the size of the S22 Ultra. you will have a phone the same width as the S22 Ultra it will just be heavier and thicker. I would buy it then if it was more durable and IP68. I'm used to carrying a thick wallet and a pistol in my cargo pants so I don't mind carrying heavy stuff.

The dust thing is big for me. If I go to the beach here in FL, plus I carry my phone in my pocket which collects lint.

I'm not a big photo and selfie taker but if I'm paying 1500 for a phone I don't want a neutered camera like the Fold 3. Just dumb the Fold came with a sub par camera for a $1700 phone.

Until they can manage to slim the phone down further and improve the seals, it's a non-starter. It's just gonna be Note upgrades for me for the foreseeable future.

I don't see myself giving up on my S22U, but I still have my ZF3 and if they make the outside screen wider then I may upgrade the ZF3 (not my S22U). That was my biggest gripe of the ZF3, but it's catch 22. Making the screen outside wider may make it heavier and bulkier, especially if they then don't shorten the height a little. Unfortunately, I am skeptical they will be able to put the camera module from the S22U into the ZF4 without making it thicker.

I'm still interested in the concept scrolling phone.. :)

I'll hold on to my s22u Note see if the fold 4 is worth an upgrade from my fold 3

No, because I'm not interested in a folding device.

Same here. I'm not even interested in the proposed sliding display feature, either. I'm ok with the Note screen size and I can get away with slipping it in my pocket without the bulge being too noticeable. If I want to use a larger screen, I'll go to my Tab S8+ or ThinkPad X1. Imo, the Fold is in no man's land; too thick to fit comfortably in the pocket, yet too small of a display to have the versatility of a tablet. But if one normally wears cargo pants or needs Swiss Army Knife functionality in one device, then I guess the Fold is the way to go.

Nope. I like to keep my notes/ultra for the next note/ultra and my fold for the next fold. If I like the fold 4 and/or flip 4 I'll trade in my fold 3 and flip 3 in toward them. Samsung is getting my blue note10+ for the s22 utlra sky blue.

NO. No desire to have a folding device. However, so far only rumors say it will not break as easily? I guess that implies the 3 broke easily?

I wouldn't mind one day having the folding phone. For me, I would want the built in S pen, same periscope cameras as the S Ultra and larger battery than the S Ultra.

No, it implies with technology and improvements it gets better in that area. The bar phones are always improving in screen glass strengths also. The glass on the S22U was improved so it won't break as easily, so I guess that implies the S21 broke easily.

Most that get the bar phones such as S22 aren't getting the folds as you have seen in the replies. It's no different then when the notes were separate, people getting the S series weren't interested in the notes.

Better cameras won't get me to the fold 4, if I had a facination with cameras I would buy a stand alone camera. Better screen is always a welcome improvement on any phone. Built in Spen, that's hard for me to say. I want a built in Spen, but that means smaller Spen. I enjoy the bigger sized Spen I have now on the fold 3. It feels like a normal pen. I have a case it's attached to the side of the phone, I use it all the time as it's right there. On my S22U, I don't hardly use the Spen. I don't know if it's because it's not out there in sight, easy to grab, it's smaller, doesn't feel natural to me, or it's because the S22U screen is smaller.

The one feature I would upgrade for alone is dust resistance. I use my fold 3 everywhere I use any of my phones, but it would be nice to have dust resistance included.

I plan on upgrading to the fold 4 unless they take away the under screen camera, that is a deal breaker.

And yes I would like to see the outside screen get a little wider, not to the extent of the S22U though. The purpose of the front screen is for quick replies and glances. You open it up when you want to dive in and actually use the phone. The front screen is easily one handed manageable, you can reach everything using one handed, and that's the point.

Before I could even start to be tempted, the Fold would need not only a much better camera but also a much higher-resolution display. The S22 Ultra has 14% more pixels than the Fold 3; even the Note 9 from 2018 has more pixels than the Fold 3. I care more about resolution than about physical screen size; if the details are there, you can hold the phone close enough to see them.

The display difference is even more stark when watching videos with a standard aspect ratio. Then, the screen width is the limiting factor, and the S22 Ultra has 40% more pixels for video than the Fold 3.

I put them side by side and looked at same pictures, videos, and websites. I fall into the category of most people that won't notice the differences. For you apparently you do so gomwoth the S22U.

Nope!!! I hated the form factor, the slim outside screen and the highly reflective screen which didn't work with polarized sunglasses.

My S22U and Tab S8 ultra will be my one two punch for the next 2 years

I have both but fold needs ultra cameras for me to buy just the fold
