So my wife has about had it with her eris. Yeah I know who isn't lol what are your thoughts on the facinate?? How is the overall performance of the phone. Battery life? When is it getting 2.2 and how hard is it to root to remove all the crapware? Thanks!

my fiancee has a fascinate and I'll be getting one this week... I'm actually pretty impressed with the battery... the only time it's been below 50% battery is when they gave it to me. it's held it's charge pretty well. Speed is supposed to be better than other comparable phones and you'll get a 2100ish quadrant score after lag-fix (search for that one, I'm not an expert to explain it). My fiancees phone is buttery smooth so far, opens everything really fast, screen is great, etc.

2.2 is "later this year" so who knows on that one.

I got 2 Fascinates on a BOGO deal, my wife loves her Fascinate coming from an Eris also. She commented how the Fascinate is bigger, but lighter than the Eris.

The Fascinate is relatively easy to root and remove bloatware and setup to default to use Google Search instead of Bing.
