So, I just took the plunge after some pretty decent play by play from a good friend who bought the TB on Saturday. He's seeing good battery life and texts more than I ever would. That being said...

I am having the Tbolt sent to my office tomorrow, but was curious to know what my strategy should be. I know it comes with like a 40% charge, and I'll obviously want to get the thing activated immediately, but should I plug it in immediately? My friend played with it on and off, charged it a little on and off, before actually going home and plugging the thing in for awhile.

Should I get the phone, activate it, and then plug it in for a full charge? I mean, I can play with it while its charging.

Manual says to charge to full before using. The VZW lady boned that up for me though :(

It's really not that critical. The important thing is to not run it down to minimum before you do a full charge.

I've always been anal about batteries and being that this thing seems to have some "battery concerns" I want to take all precautions necessary.

I think I'm going to take it out, activate the thing and then connect it to charge.

Should I leave it on the charger the first time past when it says its done?

When I picked mine up on day one, I was paying with it right out of the box. I would say mine was about 30-40% charged. I know you aren't supposed to run it down to 0% but I didn't have a car charger and was going to be out all day.

When I finally got home I did all the setting tweaks and bump charging. No ill effects noted. I say you are fine. Just charge it when you can.

Enjoy!

Whatever you do, don't charge it all the way when you get it. Use it, get the battery down to 10-15%, and then charge it.

Mine was at about 40% when i got it. I played with it for awhile and then put it on a full charge at around 30%. Don't be discouraged if it drains fast at first. Follow the board and do all the necessary tweaks, as well as the bump charge. Took my battery about 5 days to get fully conditioned. Now it charges to 100% (and stays there for a good 20 minutes) and i get a full days use with juice to spare at the end of the day.

Picked mine up at the store's opening on launch day, it was at about 40%. Just went home and started configuring it and what not while it was plugged in and charging.
