I cant believe UPS just leaves the package for this phone on my porch! I am at work and the tracking number said its just sitting there. Im glad I dont live it a bad neighborhood, but its not that great of a neighborhood. WTF!

That's what they always do unless the sender requires a signature. I've never had to sign for a package from sprint before.

According to UPS, the driver can leave the package anywhere they deem safe at your location, or leave it with a neighbor. But it's up to the driver.

Yea, I suppose I am happy I wont have to drive around to a UPS store and wait til 8pm for the truck to get back. Luckily someone picked it up for me anyway. Wooo! Only an hour and a half and I get to play with it!!

I was going to say the same.
If the UPS driver had not left it out on the porch, you would have kiked and screamed about it.
Sometimes there is a silver lining and if you dont look for it you will miss the good stuff.

UPS here won't even ask me for a signature if I meet them at the door. They just hand it to me. If I don't get to the door fast enough (I work from home) they just leave it. I've NEVER had them leave a message.

Before I moved however I lived in a relatively rural area and they would never leave packages. Go figure. As others have said though, driver's discretion. The amount of theft they have is probably greatly outweighed by the savings of not having to re-deliver.

My UPS driver could punch me in the face and crap on my porch and as long as he left my phone as he walked away I would still be smiling.

UPS must have a more lenient policy with high value items as FedEx always seems to require a signature. That is unless you leave a written note absolving them of any liability should it go missing. Either way, I used to have such things shipped to work, but my current employer has a policy against it, so now I just plan to be at home when expecting a high value delivery. :)

Depends on what you consider high value. I've had three Transformer TF300s delivered by FedEx, and every time, they left it on my porch and left.

UPS never fails - I've had a $3k coil over suspension set left at street level and missed deliveries because I needed to sign for $25 whey protein.

You ah...have a little something...there...on your face.

I wanted my UPS driver to leave my phone on the porch. I left him a nice note asking him to do so, and I left a hiding place too. And, I live in a nice neighbourhood where my house is far away from the street.

Well, the driver didn't leave it, so I called UPS and they told me that it is up to the drivers discretion whether to collect the signature or not. Lucky for this driver, I'm going to pick the phone up tomorrow, cause if I'm home when this mofo tried to re-deliver it tomorrow, I might just go psycho on his azz.

I'm flipping out now! I can't read these threads anymore about all these people enjoying their new phone.

Not worth going ballistic on the UPS guy who errors on the side of doing his job correctly.

If you don't receive a package that you were expecting, it may stolen or you maybe a victim of mail fraud. Either of the two, it is recommended that you immediately file a complaint with the U.S. Postal Inspection Service. Nationwide, there is a small but growing problem of package thievery, where thieves abscond with delivered packages. It isn't out of control at this time and there are things people can do to guard against it. Article source: visit now within our website.
