Urbane Google Fit Step Count compared to Fitbit One

I have a Fitbit One that I've had for a number of years. The step count is reasonably accurate for me. I've try Fitbit Charge, Charge HR, Surge, and while they weren't as accurate as the Fitbit One, they were pretty close. +- a few hundred steps for the day. I ended up returning them because if I have something on my wrist, I really want something to be more useful than just a fitness watch.

I got the LG Watch Urbane about a month ago. I really like the style and functionality. Over the last week or so, I started using and analyzing the step counter more. I noticed that the steps seem to be low. If I wear my Fitbit One at the same time... I get 10000 on my fitbit, but only 8000 on the Urbane. 3000 fitbit, 2000 Urbane. The difference seems to be more pronounced the more that I step.

I contacted LG, and they told me to try reseting the Urbane, with I did. Didn't seem to change anything.

Is this normal for the Urbane or android wear in general?

Also, I noticed the step counter on most of the fitness/fit watch faces doesn't seem to change immediately as I walk, like on my fitbit. It seems to buffer the steps and then change the display at some interval. Anyone know if this is normal and what causes it to change on the display? It seems like I can go into the Fit app on the watch and then it shows the updated number, then the watch display will change

I often compare my watch urbane to my girlfriends fitbit when we do the exact same things. Her fitbit always gives her more steps than my watch urbane.
If it can't be perfectly accurate, I'd rather have my device err on the short side rather than give me steps I didn't earn.

Have you considered how the devices are being worn? I'm guessing the Fitbit will be on your hip belt or in pocket and your watch on your wrist? my guess is that one position will report different to the other. Though as you'd think the manufactures should account for this to balance out the accuracy.
Just some thoughts...
