[URGENT] Samsung Galaxy Note 3 - Bricked/Unresponsive/Broken?

My partner was on her phone last night, on Facebook and it suddenly froze and then died. It had over half of its battery life.

This has happened to me before, but I just took out the battery and put it back in and it came back on. It happened to me again and I changed the battery and no problems since then.

This time, for her, the phone became unresponsive. It won't show any signs of charging, no red LED, unresponsive to recovery mode.

I have tried multiple 'fixes' that I have found over the Internet but no luck. I've tried:

- Booting via recovery mode.
- Taking out the battery and then reseating it.
- Taking out the SD card and charging.
- Connecting charger with no battery.
- 'Smashing' the power button. (Google that one, lol.)

The problem is, my partner is on a contract with Vodaphone and we took out no insurance, so she is not covered. I have read that Samsung have to follow laws and as a consumer, a device should work for 3-5 years and that they should still be liable for it, if anything should happen to it (Non self inflicted damage, i.e dropping it, ect) but I am unsure how true this is.

I have read that the phone could be 'Bricked' and may be fixed with new software, but again I am unsure how this would work, since the phone won't turn on at all.

Could anyone think of any possible causes as well as any possible fixes?

I am unsure what model it is, all I know is what it says on the back, below the battery.

Thanks in advance!
