usb 3.0 issue

Hello guys!
Just bought a new galaxy s5 and a samsung usb 3.0 cable too.
The problem is that it is only connected as a usb 2.0 device.
I contacted both manufacturers and neither samsung nor
apple could help me. Please help!

You are talking about being connected to your PC??
Does your PC have USB 3.0 connections?

Yes and yes. It's an late2012 27 iMac. With 4 usb 3.0 ports

You may need a PC Emulator to run on your MAC.

Have to select on the phone to connect as usb3, think it's when you pull down the notification bar.
Not at my computer to check, but my sprint s5 has a setting there if I recall correctly
