USB adapter with flash drive?

I was thinking could you use a micro USB to USB adapter to expand usable storage? If that was the case I could use my 16 gb for video storage. Still haven't got my fire yet but thought this could solve the only 8gb of on board storage.

That is a good question, I am going to give it a try but will not know for about a week. We may need a USB driver but I got to think someone out there has figured this out already.
