Hi guys just wondered if anyone else is having issues with hdmi output on note 8?

I bought a usb-c to hdmi cable from eBay (cheapest I could find) and it works for a while then cuts out saying video format not supported on the TV.

It's an 6 year old TV and cheap wire but I was wondering if anyone else has another fix other than spending £30 on the Samsung official adapter.

Thanks in advance

I've looked into that but I only watch one film at a time so not too worried about that.

Is ChoeTech quite a reliable brand then? I have charging cable from them which works very well

Yes, I love their products. Ok they ARE a Chinese company, BUT they make quality products. I have several, that cord, a dongle for my MacBook, AND a wireless charging pad. All have been flawless. :)

This is the one I use. I've binge watched both seasons of the Crown with it, it works great. The only issue I have is that I have to disconnect the adapter from the hdmi going to the TV one time before I get sound, each and every time I use it. But after that it plays for hours with a glitch. And it's 4k compatible.

USB C Hub, VAVA USB C to HDMI Adapter with 4K Ultra HD Display, USB C Display Port for 2017 MacBook Pro 2016 / 2017, Google ChromeBook and More Type C Laptop https://www.amazon.com/dp/B075D6CWC...ag=hawk-future-20&ascsubtag=UUacUvbUpU6119440

That one looks ok, BUT 2 things, its a bit short and its an adapter requiring an HDMI cord also, some of the CHOE TECH options are cords themselves not requiring anything else.

I don't see the problem, I just leave it connected to the hdmi cable that's already attached to my TV. To each their own. I was trying to show other options. Use whatever works for you.

Definitely not a major issue. I'm sure I have an extra HDMI cord or 2 hanging around. Yes its also a good option. ;)

The corded one would probably be best if you're on the go and don't feel like carrying an adapter and cable. But since I only use the adapter on the bedroom TV I just leave it plugged in with the hdmi 2 cable attached and as soon as my husband dozes off, I plug it in! Lol

I'm not understanding this: how does the cord connect to the TV without HDMI?

The product she listed was an adapter, it has a female HDMI end for you to insert your own HDMI cord, you plug your own HDMI cord I to the TV then in to the adapter THEN the other end of the adapter in to your phone or USB C laptop.
