I used to be able to direct connect with a USB using my Note 8 to see files and folders. Now, my Note20 refuses to connect. Using USB 3.0 cable, short length to machine. Now all I get is battery charging. Here's what I done to attempt to fix the problem (each time rebooting the phone):
1) Updated Samsung USB drivers on Window machine and rebooted.
2) Set developer options on phone and set USB debugging to On. Cleared keys in developer options.
3) Set USB default on phone to transfer files.
I've tried all suggestions inside Syncios utility (which I would prefer not to use), nothing works.

Other ideas?
Thanks!

I have dex installed on my win 10, it will also install the drivers. Let's me see the phone's drive after I unlock the phone. Can also see the phone dex running in a windows screen and drag and drop to the windows drive or vise versa.

Thanks for the idea. I found the problem, my fault. Had the cable plugged into a charger instead of a computer. Now it all works. I'll chalk this one up to old age.
