USB Dock

I picked up a USB dock for the HOX here in the store and just received it.

First of all, it's got one heck of a bright blue light in the corner. The phone covers it when it's docked but, wow, it's pretty bright.

The big question I had was, I thought a big clock would pop up when I docked it but it doesn't. I guess I should have figured that since it's just a USB charger?

I looked at the Dock Mode option in Settings but I think that's for HTC's dock.

Does this mean I'd have to get some kind of clock app to manually launch when I use this dock?

That is reserved for HTC dock you are correct and I can't find that HTC official car dock anywhere is it me or does best buy suck they never have anything for these phones but off brand carp.

Its not going to Dock mode because thats a normal USB cable, like if your charging right of the wall. You need the HTC Dock or if Seidio if they come out with one. I know im reusing my Evo 3D dock and it works perfect, see another thread. Maybe this will help you

Its not going to Dock mode because thats a normal USB cable, like if your charging right of the wall. You need the HTC Dock or if Seidio if they come out with one. I know im reusing my Evo 3D dock and it works perfect, see another thread. Maybe this will help you

That's what I figured. I don't know why I didn't figure that out when I ordered it. That cable's pretty cool though.

I think I might just return this one. I saw the HTC dock with BT and it looked nice but expensive. And, you can't even get it here yet!

Quite a few people programming their own NFC tags to do custom functions like this or when in a vehicle. Not the easiest solution but a lot more enjoyable

I think I'm just returning it. I usually grab my phone first thing in the morning as I'm in bed to check email and what not. Taking it out of the dock isn't super easy. I'm just sticking with a USB cable and laying it on the nightstand.
