AC Question

Hi, just upgraded from a Moto G3 to a G5 and quite impressed so far, except for one issue: When I plug it into my computer (64bit Windows 10 desktop) it doesn't appear as a drive under 'This PC' meaning I can't transfer files to or from it.

I'm aware you need to pull down the notification thing on the phone when you attach the USB cable and select the "USB for file Transfer" (MTP) option (as it just charges by default) - this is the same as my old G3. It's just that this option is simply failing to do anything on the G5.

Checking "Bluetooth and other devices" in the system settings on my PC shows that 'Moto G (5)' is listed under "Other devices" and that the "Driver is unavailable"

The photo transfer (PTP) option works as normal.

I've done a factory reset on the phone and I even tried upgrading Windows (I was on Win 8.1 previously - I just upgraded it to 10) but it hasn't made any difference.

Any suggestions would be appreciated - thanks!

i'm having the same trouble, going from an LG G Flex2 to a LG G5. D/L the latest drivers from LG helped a bit but the only way to connect now is with Airdrive and I have a lot of big files to Xfer and they would take forever. I wonder what is going on?
