USB mode

Hey people

I was wondering about the USB modes on my phone. When I connect to my laptop using USB, I get three modes. Charging, Storage and Tether. I recently contacted Sprint to ask them about the Premium data charge and tethering. I was told that they no longer offer the tethering service. But, one of their new phones has a mode for it. I'm confused. Can anyone clear this up for me?

Also, since there is a tethering mode on the phone, if I tried it, would I need a program like Easy Tether to use it?

You could always consider rooting your phone and then you could use "Wireless Tether" to connect your phone to your laptop.

If your not sure about rooting your phone yet, then there is Easy Tether and PDAnet wired tether available with limited free versions.

So pick your poison I guess..

- Root your phone and enjoy free wireless tethering
- Pay for Sprint Hotspot (monthly fee) or use one of the other apps mentioned and pay their full app price.
