I decided to try the USB OTG route to get photos off of my digital camera, but I keep running into problems. I ordered the cable recommended in the CNET article. It took forever to arrive, and when it finally did arrive, it physically doesn't fit into my micro usb port on the phone. The connector look the same, but there must be some minor difference that prevents it from plugging in. So obviously nothing happens.
My next attempt was to connect my camera with my S3 using a patched together connector system using a female to female USB connector and a micro to regular size USB adaptor. Nothing happens when I connect my camera with this set up.
I am leaving for a trip in a few days and was hoping to be able to get photos from my camera to my phone during the trip. I can't seem to locate another OTG cable locally - in the Phoenix area, and I don't think I have time now to order another one online.
Has anyone else had this problem with the cheap amazon cable? Anyone have any suggestions for a quick fix?
