Camscanner documents cannot be viewed

I deleted the .images file from the camscanner folder, when my phone was connected to the laptop.

Now, when i open a document in the camscanner app, it opens blank images. I cannot view the images.

When i try to share the document, it sas empty document.

Please help me! How can i recover these scanned documents?

What kind of files are the image files (what comes after the dot in the file name)? If it's not a file type that some other app can read, CamScanner might have been reading the files internally, and it needed that .images file to know which files to read. (A file starting with a dot means that it's a hidden file. There's usually a reason for hiding a file, and that reason is normally to keep you from doing anything to it.)

You might still be able to recover your scans if your phone was synced with the CamScanner cloud or if backups were enabled.


In case the app isn’t showing images properly, reinstalling or using older CamScanner versions has helped some users fix blank document issues and restore missing files.
