Usb port for music

Is there a way to get my car's USB to recognize my SD card. When I plug it in to my phone, it only reads the phone internal memory. All of my music is on SD card not on the phone. I know I could just use Bluetooth, but I think the sound quality is better when I play it through the USB. I don't want to move my music to my phone's storage.

Used to be able to chopse what happens when you connect usb cord to phone. I knoe mass storage was an option. Couldnt find it but did run across this.

Okay, thanks I'll try that. Where did you find that setting in smart switch?

Just search for it in settings.
