USB Problems

Hey. My captivate has been working beautifully with these new GB roms until about a week ago when my computer won't even recognize my phone. and all the phone shows that it charging but no notification about USB connection? ive tried different ports and reinstalling drivers all that good stuff and the cable still works with other devices so can anyone help?

is usb debugging turned off?

Make sure you reboot your PC too. Most problems like this are solved with the standard Microsoft fix (reboot). If you loaded CM7 or MIUI for a ROM, then there are other reasons you might be having trouble.

Also, download/install Kies Mini to your PC (after install make sure that Kies Mini is up to date) then click Tools > Update Drivers.

I had the same issue when i first went to serendipity 7. I found that plugging and unplugging the cord repeatedly fixed my problem. After about the 10th plug in it recognized it.

I actually haven't had any troubles since then.

none of your suggestions worked! im really starting to doubt this phone

Plug it into another PC and see if it works. If not, take it to ATT to swap. If it works on another PC, then start doubting your computer.

I'm pretty sure you need the i9000 if you have one of the Gingerbread ROMs installed. Just like you need the Nexus S drivers after flashing CM7.

i never changed any drivers after going to gingerbread. nor did i get nexus s drivers when i was on cm7...
