Use old UI on Samsung note9?

Yeah, better then not getting updates/security patches it's like having a older phone not getting updates anymore

Meh, I just don't mess with root anymore. And if I want to keep up to date with technology, then I have to put up with a number of bad ideas.

I don't know if it is better, but it is how things are.

Like anything else in life...usually OS updates supposed to be better and they have left some features out that looks like will return back as I'm watching multiple sources .

Perhaps, but not always. At least some of the ui messes can be fixed. Unlike the design changes in the new phones.

It's a new UI , so gotta be patient as I'm sure they will adjust things here and there like anything else . They will refine it just wont be right away on demand like some are hoping for .

Or ... you can just go to another manufacturer - Samsung isn't the only company making Android phones. (I jumped ship over a year ago, and I'm a happy camper.)

Unfortunately, AT&T Next only has a few Android Smartphones. And Samsung is the only manufacturer to have Samsung Pay and the MST hardware.

Best advice I've seen. I happen to like One UI, but if I was really as unhappy as some of you are, I'd buy a different phone. Simple fix. Much better than going backwards and not having security updates.

Except it's not. Some people use Next, or similar services, to upgrade at all. It makes it affordable, but also restricts ability to simply change phones out.

My phone worked perfectly fine in January, but by the end of February, it's a different experience and not necessarily a good one.

Just take a look at Samsung Flow. I was about to set it up on my Surface Pro 6, but the reviews seem to indicate that it is essentially a waste of space.

You should try to make sure that your product works before you release it.

I totally understand your frustrations. I would be too if I weren't happy with my device or the software. It is what is though, at least for now, so I guess it's a matter of finding a solution that works for you. I hope you are able to find that.

Thankfully, I have had to learn tolerance. I will deal with it. At least I don't have an S10. OneUI is one thing, but OneUI and the design changes in the S10 of would be a lot worse.

Totally agree! Just got the update today and there are a few things that I like, BUT a bunch that I don't! Wish I could get the settings and whatnot that come with Pie, but choose the look and feel (besides just a theme). Really miss the clean feel of Oreo on the N9.

I still don't understand why manufacturers force a grossly different OS on us. We should have the ability to easily accept the new or retain the old.

Samsung just released GoodLock. You can move the time back to the right, get back the list view in the recent apps mode and whatnot.

If they would just release Good Lock to EVERYONE not just select regions, I know that there is workarounds but I don't think I should have to go that route for something that is so popular, at least give people a reason WHY.
Maybe it's a spyware they can't get away with everywhere ;-)
