Used Samsung Pay, almost got arrested

how long before they put samsung pay stickers like they have apple pay... bet never... man im so damn tired of seeing apple this and apple that. iphones are over rated.

everyone always looks at my phone like wow thats really nice is it an iphone... i try to hide my murderous look lol.. "no ma'am its not an iphone"
but inmy head im like [language removed] no its not a GD iphone. GTFO." hahah jp.

The same way people refer to all tablets as ipads lol... i work in IT and customers calling about their "ipad" and its some no brand android. Lol or a kindle.

Exaggeration...only a little. The girl at the register did scream, she did yell out, she really carried on. I did step back with my hands raised. The entire staff of taco bell came up to the front and there was a kid with a knife...he was chopping something. The time from the first scream until every thing was over....felt like hours....the reality was, it only was the time it took to make 2 burrito Supreme, hold the onions....So what...2 minutes, maybe, after everyone came and investigated. If there was a Police officer there, I'm sure I would have been, 'restricted for my own safety' while they figured out what she was screaming about...

I guess we can expect all kinds of reactions from people that don't know about the newest technologies out their. I think every time someone walks into a store and is going to use Samsung pay have another person record the cashier's reaction and then someone should start a thread with Samsung Pay reactions, so anyone can post peoples reactions on it.

Don't think it works at places where you need to slide the card inwards, so most gas stations, atm machines, and parking ticket payment stations

I'm generally not a fan of Samsung, but it really seems like they have a winning proposition with Samsung Pay... As long as they can convince people there's more than just Apple Pay.

No, it does not work at the pump. I tried it. It only works on ones that you slide the card down the reader.

That being said, I used it at Wendy's this morning, and had to get into a 5 minute debate, on how I did not hack their reader. The manager seen me put my phone next to it and process the order. He immediately came over and said, "I'm going to call the police. I just watched you not use a card and hack my reader with your phone." Even though their reader was also set up for NFC tap and pay. I told him that I could assure that I did not hack. He kept yelling at me saying I did.

Well I don't like being yelled at so, at this point, I picked up his card reader and showed him the tap and pay icon. And at this point my response was, "Sir, respectfully, you're a dummy (it censors out the word i d i ot lol). I'm surprised that someone in your position as Store Manager would be properly trained in the equipment that you use. No wonder this establishment is going downhill fast. Leadership means train by example. The only example I see here for your crew, is that you are showing them how NOT to treat customers. Go ahead if you will, call the police, while I call your corporate office and explain how you dont even know how to use your equipment." At this point he HIMSELF called corporate to prove me wrong, and asked about Tap and pay. His crew watched as his face went from anger to the "I'm a dummy" look. At least he was man enough to come back and apologize. He even gave me a free frosty, not that it goes great with breakfast, but hey, free is free. Lol

I wouldn't dream of trying to use Samsung Pay where I live. #1 There's a larger percent of non-tech people, than tech. #2 I can guarantee you that they haven't upgraded their equipment in a decade. #3 They would probably think I'm trying to do card skimming or something and call the cops.

We might be ready for the tech, but the populace at large is still in the 20th century on ancient "tech".

Right. How can you miss the big round hole button? Or the tiny off center camera? If it's the same size as an iphone, it must be an iPhone. So if it doesn't work on iphone, it must not work on ANY phone...tragic

You have far more patience than I do, if you got bad service from a manager at a place where they ought to know better. I couldn't even take a free anything after that. I appreciate someone admitting when they're wrong, but really?

It's OK that folks don't know much about the Samsung thing...but not knowing you have tap to pay and acting like that towards a customer, regardless is BS. Given that I had the time, I would simply let the guy call the police and meanwhile, look up the article that disproves him, so that he looks even more like a jerk.
