I thought others might find this useful, as it has been incredibly useful for me.

Using a hockey puck, the OEM Motorola Droid car mount makes a very useful droid stand for next to your computer. I use it with K-9 Mail open often, Google Talk, or while listening to Pandora, or whatever else I am doing. It is very useful to answer quick emails or IMs without having to change my context over on my laptop screen.

A standard (6 oz) hockey puck works great (a puck with a smooth surface..) - I imagine a weighted / training puck (10 oz) would work even better, but this is stable enough that I don't think it is needed. It is the perfect size to attach the suction mount, and provides the right amount of weight to keep it stable on the stand.

Just thought I'd pass it along...

(I'd post pics - I tried - but I don't have 10 posts yet.. )

Body Glove makes the snap on case with the clip on the back that has a kick stand like feature idk if one would like that better or not.

Good tip. Thanks. I will soon have the only hockey puck in South Louisiana. :)

That's a pretty genius idea for a desktop stand. But do you have 2 car docks, or just take the dock in with you at night?
