User Guide?

I am deaf so I don't use the phone on the Nexus 5. Today my husband made a call with the Nexus 5. He said with the volume all the way up he could hardly hear the other person. He asked me where the speaker for the phone was located. I have no idea. I looked for a user guide but can't find one except for a quick start guide that shows you how to charge the battery. Is there something helpful?
